Halloween 2012

Halloween was yesterday!
This was Lucas's first year celebrating Halloween. Lucas and I went to the Pumpkin Patch with Nonna, Aunt Lindsay and Macie after Cousin Britt's baby shower a few weeks ago. We took a hayrack ride to the corn maze. We did complete the corn maze and each got a free cup of popcorn!
Patch's Pumpkin Patch near Earlham, Iowa.
We also went as a little family to the Apple Orchard / Pumpkin Patch here in Fort Dodge. Mommy and Daddy helped Lucas pick his pumpkin! We got some Apple Butter and Caramel Puffs for fall snacks.

On Matt's next day off, we invited Grandpa & Grandma Dunn up to partake in Lucas's first experience carving pumpkins. He enjoyed looking inside the pumpkins and eating the "pumpkin juice".
See the video below!

In order from left to right is Audrey's, Jim's Lucas's, Heather's and Matthew's.
Then there is Lucas posing with his Superman Pumpkin and finally, mine against the wall making a reflection!
On Tuesday, Altoona had their trick-or-treat night. Lindsay, Macie, Lucas and I went around the
cul-de-sac by Jeff's house and got the kids some candy.
Macie was a good witch and Lucas was a monkey!
Lucas got to see all of his grandparents during trick-or-treating!
He ate WAY too much candy! But I think he enjoyed it!

Yesterday, I got Lucas dressed up in his second costume and we went to Matt's work to see everyone! He showed off his walking skills and impressed all the ladies with his giggle!

We were planning to take Lucas trick-or-treating, but he slept through half of it. We had our light on but didn't have one child come to our door. This town is really strange! All of the children must have went to the "rich" neighborhoods to get candy!

Hope you all had a fabulous Halloween!

With love,
Matthew, Heather & Lucas

Just the beginning!

Hi everyone! After seeing other mommy's blogs and tired of receiving Facebook notifications from everyone "liking" or commenting on how cute Lucas is on my phone.. I have decided to dive into this new world of blogging. So, it is here that we will continue to update family and friends about our adventures as a little family of three!! I plan to get an entry done at least once a week during Lukey's nap time.

For those who aren't familiar or would just like to be recapped here goes.. I have some important dates below that lead up to the present! This a quick jist of the last two years and all that has happened, which is ALOT.

1.12.10--Matthew asked me to marry him

10.23.10--Matthew and I were wed. One of the best days of our lives!
1.02.11--All-Inclusive honeymoon in Puerta Vallerta, Mexico
1.14.11--Matt accepted a promotion to Assistant Manager in North Platte, NE
4.29.11--Matthew & I found out we were expecting!
12.21.11--Lucas Matthew Dunn was born at 3:05pm weighing 9 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long!
5.20.12--Lucas was baptized at the Altoona United Methodist Church
6.29.12--Matthew, Lucas and I moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Presently, Matt is an Assistant Manager at the Fort Dodge store. He works hard and  l o n g  hours to support our family. This allows me to be a stay at home mommy and wife. We just celebrated our two year anniversary :)

Being a stay at home mommy and wife allows me to fully be involved with Lucas's development and learning. I try very hard to teach him something new every day. I stay caught up on all of the housework, bills, etc. I am also a Independent Consultant for a wonderful company = Thirty-One. This company allows me to make a little bit of an income to help cover bills/fun stuff, while still being able to be at home with Lucas. It also gives me an escape at least once a month for some girl time!
Lucas is 10.. yes TEN months old already. He is growing so quickly and is ahead developmentally. I don't like to brag, but he seriously is super smart. He learned how to walk within the last month. He LOVES being independent and exploring everything he can get his hands on. (We had to baby proof the kitchen cabinets--the little stinker would get into them and take EVERYTHING out one by one!!)

Well, that's all for now. Next time I will try to get a little fancier with the appearance. I will have to read up on how to do those things.

With love,

Matthew, Heather & Lucas
