**Catching up** - Easter Weekend Fun!

This year for Easter we drove to Des Moines.

We did an indoor Easter Egg hunt at Nonna and Papa's house with Easton and Macie the weekend before Easter. Lucas wasn't very fond of searching for the eggs. Instead, he just wanted me to open up all of the wrapped candy for him. Luckily, Nonna got him some healthy snacks too!

The Easter Bunny brought him a basket of goodies to Grandma Audrey & Grandpa Jim's house.
Aunt Katharyne helped him open everything and read him his new stories.
The next morning, Lucas and I went to the Catholic church with Nonna, Papa & Anyi. Then we went to the Methodist church with Daddy, Grandma Audrey and Grandpa Jim.
After church we got to see Great-Uncle Jay, Aunt Lori and cousin Grant. It was great getting to see them! They were very impressed with Lucas's vocabulary and signs! Aunt Lori said she wishes she would have had a child like Lucas, one who entertains himself. Grant was constantly on the go running around. Lucas does that too but just not as fast ;)

Then it was lunch time. I am glad that we were hungry because we went to Chips for their special Easter Buffet. Lucas spent the greater part of our time there playing with a straw and trying to pinch one end and suck the pop out of the other. Thanks to Grandma Cyndi this is his new favorite thing to do now every time we go out to eat. Here is a picture of him chip-munking food!

Lucas with his Great-Grandpa Gary and Great-Grandma Sharon! They got an Easter basket at their house for him from the Easter Bunny too! He enjoyed tearing through everything and found the candy right away! Grandpa Rod and Grandma Cyndi had a basket from the Easter Bunny too! He got a kite, t-shirt, sidewalk chalk, and of course more candy!!

Then we hurried to Bass Pro with Grandpa Rod and Grandma Cyndi to meet the Easter Bunny! We made it just in time. Lucas didn't like that mommy walked away to get just a picture of the two of them, but we did end up with a pretty decent picture right before he completely threw a fit!

After seeing the Easter Bunny we went and looked at the fish. He didn't seem too interested so we ventured over to the boats. He loved running around on them and pretending he was driving them. Grandpa Rod cannot wait to get him out on the lake this summer! It should be pretty fun!

Afterwards, we went to Nonna and Papa's for dinner! We spent some quality time with them before we headed back to Fort Dodge!

Even though Easter was almost a month ago, we hope you all had a great time and remembered what the true meaning of Easter is all about! Jesus has risen~Hallelujah!
With love,
Matthew, Heather and Lucas
